Chagrin Falls Photography Students Fieldtrip
On May 17, 2013, Chagrin Falls High School photography students took a field trip to collect pictures for their final projects. These students traveled to the Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum and to the Lakeview Cemetery to gather images that would catch the viewers' attention. Then, at the Lakeview Cemetery, the photographers gathered on the grass to enjoy their lunches, while grasping the elegance of the landscaping. All of the students had required criteria they needed to fulfill, but the field trip locations were so interesting that the students were enjoying it to the point of the trip not feeling like work. Everyone was exploring every aspect that was offered at the Crawford Auto Museum. This museum not only showed cars but also airplanes, bikes, carriages, and many others, including 150 vehicles and aircraft. The museum shows a culture inside of the society of Northern Ohio; this culture is the advancements or changes that took place throughout the years dealing with mechanics. In addition, at the Lakeview Cemetery, the students were spread out all over the large space of land at the beautiful and immense Lakeview Cemetery. One of the photographers said, "I only got to see a small area of the cemetery because there were just so many things in that area which were picture worthy, and I would definitely like to go back again." The cemetery made an impression on the students, which made them feel as if they were walking through history. It is the burial ground of 106,000 people, so this amazing place has a special place in the hearts of families all over the world, and the students felt the emotional attachment to this place as well. The locations contrasted each other immensely; the museum carries a very mechanical and industrial feeling with it, and the cemetery allowed the photographers to get very nature themed pictures and absolutely magnificent images.
